Welcome!  I teach violin students at my studio in Northwest Austin.

I aim to help each student develop a personal connection to the violin.  I believe this is achieved by setting challenging goals, having focused and consistent practice sessions, and learning to practice with patience and determination.  This empowers students to take ownership of their progress, develops confidence, and makes learning and practicing enjoyable and rewarding.

I was fortunate to study with world-renowned violin pedagogues Almita and Roland Vamos, Kathleen Winkler, and Julia Bushkova, and this lineage heavily influences my teaching.  Additionally, I studied Mimi Zweig’s Suzuki pedagogy with Zweig’s assistant in Chicago, and incorporate some Suzuki philosophy and repertoire into my teaching.

My students frequently win first chair positions in their school orchestras and Austin Youth Orchestras, win awards at music competitions, and place highly in the Middle School and High School Region and All State orchestras.
